Water Costs to Rise by 44%

South East Water has proposed an increase equivalent to £183

Water company South East Water has proposed to raise the cost of water by a staggering 44%, equal to around £183.

Ofwat, the regulator for the industry, wants to hold the increase to £19. Water companies can appeal against the Ofwat proposal.

New Tunbridge Wells MP Mike Martin, says that the increases are unacceptable and that the government needs to step in and ban the increases.
