Southborough SOS wins community group of the year award

Southborough SOS has won first place in the 2026 Love Where You Live Community Group of the Year category for its sterling work in litter picking and caring for the local environment.

the community group was set up 9 years ago by local resident Leonie Barker and has a growing group of local volunteers, who can often be seen around the Southbound and High Brooms area cleaning up the streets, parks, gutters, and footpaths.

Southborough SOS has been short-listed four times since its inception in 2017 as a finalist. A £250 cheque was received at an event held at the Assembly Hall, Tunbridge Wells, on Tuesday 6 October.
