Local MPs React to Trump Assassination Attempt

Tom Tugendhat and Mike Martin

Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells MP's reactions

Following an assassination attempt against Donald Trump in Nashville on Saturday, local Members of Parliament in West Kent have reacted.

Mike Martin, MP for Tunbridge Wells said,
"I deplore acts of political violence equally as when they are directed at people I agree with as people I disagree with."

Tom Tugendhat, MP for Tonbridge said.
"Whatever your politics, democracy demands freedom. Freedom to speak your mind and freedom to speak to others. We know the price of political violence here in the UK. We stand with those who protect those same freedoms around the world."
