South East Water have announced a burst on a key main from Bewl Water Treatment Works.
South East Water customers are experiencing low water pressure or no water at the moment in parts of Pembury, Matfield, Brenchley and Lamberhurst. This is due to a burst on a key main from Bewl Water Treatment Works.
SEW has had teams working through the night but the repair is proving to be more complex than expected.
Unfortunately, the delay to the repair has now caused water levels in the area's storage tanks to fall and this will mean that customers in a larger area will lose their water supply shortly.
Bottle stations are now open at the locations below and will remain open until 9pm although we anticipate that supplies will be returned before then.
Matfield Village Hall, Matfield, Tonbridge, TN12 7LW
Pembury- Tesco Superstore, Pembury Rd, Pembury TN2 4NE
South East Water are also arranging deliveries of bottled water to vulnerable customers who have signed up for their Priority Services Register and are most in need.
******UPDATE******
The repair has now been completed and South East Water are slowing moving water through the pipework to prevent further bursts. Water supplies will return through the course of the evening, with all supplies fully returned by Friday morning.
