Speed Limit Proposals in Speldhurst

A new 40 mph limited is being proposed

The effect of this proposed Order from Kent County Council would be to reduce the existing 50mph speed limit to a 40mph speed limit on Ashurst Road, Groombridge Hill, and Langton Road in Speldhurst in Tunbridge Wells.

This order is being made for the following reasons:

  • for avoiding the danger to persons or other traffic using the road or any other road or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising
  • for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which the road runs
  • for facilitating the passage on the road or any other road of any class of traffic (including pedestrians).

The scheme will be reviewed so that the Council can make the decision to make the Order permanent, amend or abandon it.

Full details, including the scheme plan, can be found in the Public Notice and Statement of Reason document.

The consultation closes at noon on 2 August 2021
