Control now in hands of the Operator of Last Resort
Southeastern trains, which operate services in Kent, Sussex, parts of London, and HS1, has formally passed from operator Govia, to the government.
The franchise holder failed to declare over £25m of taxpayer funding and Transport Secretary Grant Chapps said that the operation would be taken over to protect taxpayers' interests.
Trains and timetables will be unaffected and all tickets will remain valid for travel.
