Two Tonbridge students win Gold in New Zealand
Two students from Tonbridge Grammar School have won gold medals in New Zealand
In the 2024 Commonwealth Junior and Cadet Championship, local students Tilly (year 12) and Melanie (year 11) won gold for England in the competition, held in Christchurch, New Zealand.
Tilly from year 12 said: “The opportunity to fence in New Zealand is one I will never forget. It has been such a privilege to spend time with so many amazing fencers and coaches while representing England at the Commonwealth Fencing Championships. Winning gold in the team event was the perfect end to an amazing experience that I know will stay with me for the rest of my life!”
