Phil Clark and Mia Brooks join Chris Makey to talk about reforming their group and their new single.
Mia Brooks and The Swans are an East Sussex-based indie rock band combining soaring melodies, driving guitars and heartfelt lyrics. Originally formed in 1996, the band built a great local following before life took the members in different directions and the project was put on hold. After a hiatus of more than two decades, the band has reformed with renewed energy and a fresh approach to songwriting, blending their original influences with a modern sound. Fronted by Mia's distinctive vocals, Mia Brooks and The Swans are now writing, recording and releasing original music independently, beginning a new chapter with their debut single, "Too Late For Surrender". Drawing inspiration from classic British rock and contemporary indie artists of the 90's, the band creates songs that combine memorable hooks with honest storytelling. With new releases already planned, they are excited to share the next stage of their journey with both old and new audiences.
Phil Clark and Mia Brooks explained to Chris Makey how they are trying to prove that even though we are all a bit older, age shouldn't matter in music; in fact it just gets better! They will be performing at The Forum in Tunbridge Wells - https://www.twforum.co.uk/events/2026-06-29-stable-the-divide-glasshouse-i-am-her-the-river-swans-the-forum
