Polling stations opened today for three separate local council by-elections across Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council. Voters will be going to the polls in Kings Hill Ward, West Malling & Leybourne Ward and Castle Ward. The polls close at 10 pm


Police have charged two people with murder in Tunbridge Wells. A police investigation was launched after a man was found fatally injured in Caley Road, Tunbridge Wells at the weekend. The two men charged are both from Essex. The investigation is ongoing.


While the Omicron strain starts to spread across the country, the confirmed number of cases in West Kent is reported to be a small number. Local health officials say that they are looking to limit the spread of the variant, first discovered in South Africa.


Tomorrow is the deadline to donate to the Mayor of Tunbridge Wells Christmas Toy Appeal. Donations can be made at the Royal Victoria Place service desk.


Friday is Christmas Jumper Day in West Kent, where everyone is invited to wear the festive jumpers to work. Hospice in the Weald will be collecting pictures during the day, where your jumper can be shared.


If you fancy stretching your muscles after the Christmas break, Bewbush Water near Lamberhurst has a New Years Day 5k or 10k run, where runners will be awarded a medal as they’re complete the course.
