Witnesses are being sought by police, following a collision near Five Oak Green.

It was reported a cyclist was travelling on the A228 Maidstone Road, from the Badsell Road roundabout towards Paddock Wood, when he was involved in a collision with a car travelling in the same direction. The collision took place shortly before 2.40 pm on Tuesday this week.

The cyclist suffered injuries and was taken to a local hospital.


Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has opened the sixth round of business grants. ARG round six is aimed at providing support to businesses whose income has been severely affected by the pandemic. These government-supported grants have been a lifeline to many West Kent businesses. At the same time, a further Travel and Tourism sector grant has opened.

Kent County Council’s Strategic Recovery Fund closed for applications on Friday. The fund is aimed at community groups who have had difficulties raising funds during the pandemic. The Kent Community Foundation is managing applications.


Sevenoaks School student Eliza has won this year’s Canterbury Festival Young Musicians Bursary Competition. The £2,000 bursary will help Eliza to develop her talent as a musician.


In local sport, and Tonbridge Angles Academy produced a resounding home win with a final score of 11-0 against Ebbsfleet United.
