Familiar tunes from one of the most popular musical films of all time are coming to Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall this month.
The Tunbridge Wells Operatic and Dramatic Society - or TWODS - is putting on a production of the "Sound of Music" over 5 days from October 28th to November 1st.
West Kent Radio's Zac Daunt-Jones has been talking to the star of the show, Imogen Hart, who plays Maria. Imogen explained how she cried when she heard that she'd landed the role. Listen here:
Imogen (pictured below) will be performing numerous familiar tunes including 'Do-Re-Mi,' 'My Favourite Things,' 'Edelweiss,' and the soaring title number 'The Sound of Music.'
This production coincides with the 60th anniversary of the release of the Sound of Music film starring Julie Andrews.
Imogen tells Zac how the film was the favourite film of her late grandmother. She also explained how the children in the cast have been so supportive of each other as they prepare for the production in a few weeks time.
TWODS promise that the production boasts stunning sets, beautiful costumes, and a cast full of talent and passion.
