Any More Trains?

The cuts to Local Train Services since covid seem unlikely to be quickly reversed.

Martin Webber spoke to Rob Mansfield of the Tonbridge Line Commuters group about what impact the new Labour government might have on the rail network.

Rob Mansfield believes that passengers are unlikely to notice much difference from Labour's plans to "nationalise" the railway, as the system has been run by the government anyway since covid.

He does welcome the new government's commitment to making the system less fragmented but he wants more people to join his group to lobby for funds for a better train service locally.

Service in the middle of the day have halved at both Hildenborough and Tunbridge Wells stations since covid - down to 1 per hour from Hildenborough and 2 per hour from Tunbridge Wells.
