GREAT COMP GARDENS; JAZZ ON THE LAWN, PIMMS, ART & PLANTS TO DELIGHT AT TWO DAY SUMMER SHOW

More Information (West Kent Radio | 95.5 & 106.7 FM is not responsible for external websites)

Run by a Charitable Trust, Great Comp Garden in Platt, near Sevenoaks in Kent is celebrating summer with jazz, plants, the best nurseries in the south east, artists and Pimms on the lawn.

Live Jazz and Summer refreshments on the lawn
Literally exuding 'sumer vibes', the Square Lawn at Great Comp, surrounded by the cool border on one side and hot border on the other is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing glass of Pimms, or a cream tea from the Old Dairy Tearoom while listening to live jazz courtesy of KYJO and Strings N Things

Horticultural excellence and expert plant advice
Keen gardeners looking to redesign a border or find that one elusive specimen can take advantage of browsing and buying plants from some of the leading independent nurseries in the South East - many of them RHS Chelsea Flower Show medal-winning growers keen to offer advice.

Among the nurseries in attendance are four gold medal winners: clay-loving perennial specialists Pelham Plants from East Sussex (2024 & 2026 Gold), Moore And Moore Plants from Essex who celebrated a 5th consecutive Gold medal this year at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for their shade-loving plants, and the No Name Nursery - holder of four National Collections as well as Chelsea Gold Medals (2019 & 2024).

This year’s outstanding line-up of horticultural exhibitors also includes H W Hyde (who celebrated their 100th birthday this year!), Southon Plants, Rose Cottage Plants, Dyson's Nurseries and Dan Cooper Gardens who will be launching his new 'look book' photographed at The No Name Nursery, owned by Steve Edney and Lou Dowle's near Sandwich.

Art, artisans and crafts
Beyond the blooms, the show is a haven for art enthusiasts and those who appreciate fine craftsmanship. Strolling through the garden at Great Comp, visitors will discover talented artists like Anna Clements and Fiona Osbaldstone, artisans like Studio Florae who use only natural dyes for their screen printed homeware, skilled jewellery makers, Laddingford bee keepers, and gardenware specialists like Light Hearted who create upcycled handcrafted gardenware. Multiple exhibitors will be housed in the great marquee on the Square.
